For Christian schools

A business office for schools that don't have one

Many Christian schools run on a dedicated administrator and a volunteer treasurer. I step in as your part-time business manager, so tuition, payroll, budgets and board reports stay on schedule all year.

I do this work today as the business and operations manager for a Christian school and church in Jackson, so I know FACTS, EFS funding, tuition agreements, designated gifts and the rhythm of a school year firsthand.

Spring
Draft next year's budget and tuition schedule for board approval.
Summer
Close the fiscal year and organize records for your auditor or CPA.
August
Set up tuition agreements, FACTS billing and EFS tracking for the new year.
Monthly
Reconcile accounts and deliver a board-ready financial report.

Behind the name

Grain represents stewardship. Stone represents strength.

Grain

“They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh… This food should be held in reserve for the country.”Genesis 41:35–36 (NIV)

Wise stewardship: managing resources carefully, preparing financially and planning for the future.

Stone

“Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” … “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work.Nehemiah 2:17–18 (NIV)

Strong foundations: restoring stability, strengthening organizations and helping businesses grow.

Managing resources wisely while building foundations that last.

About

Hi, I'm Jessee.

Today I run the full business office for a Christian school and church in Jackson: bookkeeping, payroll, tuition and financial aid, EFS funding, budgets and board reporting, plus the technology that keeps it all running.

Before that, finance was a big part of every role I held. At a consumer products company I handled invoicing and payment tracking in QuickBooks, and helped with budgets and forecasts while growing its Amazon business from $100K to over $4.5 million a year. At iD Tech Camps I helped manage payroll, expenses and budgets for seasonal teams of more than 100 staff.

I started Grain & Stone to give small businesses and Christian schools that same careful, personal help. When you work with Grain & Stone, you work with me.
